Forever On

Acid gleams within her eyes
Behind the lids of steel
Skin of stone frozen still
Trapped within a dream

Nightmarishly we fight our bonds
Struggling to awake
Though we know that what awaits
Might not be soft and safe

Within our skins of frozen stone
Forever on we scream
Behind our lids of silver steel
Forever on we dream

Know that our nightmares must continue
For we shall never wake
Turned to statue and frozen still
Hands resting on our waists

Her eyes flash open, acid leaks
Revealing the fear within
Her personal pains are not to be shared
For her eyes then close again

Her hands would not turn back to stone
Her vice-like grip prevails
Clutched within her greyish palms
Is her wand of steel

Unlucky wanderer turn back now
Do not cross our paths
Enter not the broken stone
A tomb entrapping us

Take not the wand within her fist
For then you shall be cursed
To fall within the broken nightmare
Statues resting beside her

We were also foolish travellers
Who wished to break the curse
And only when the hundreth joins us
Shall she be freed of hers

Should you come she shall be freed
Her eyes shall once more shine
You shall lie in her vacated place
For I was ninety-nineth

Do not come and meet your doom
Mayhaps you will be spared
Yet you shall come and touch her wand
To join us in our nightmare

And we shall scream forever on
While we suffer in deepest sleep
And we shall dream forever on
While we sleep for eternity
