Grey
There are more shades than Black and White
More personalities than Good or Bad
Life is not run by zeroes and ones
There are options between Wrong and Right
Not all colors can be classified
By whether they are dark or light
Not all children will be quenched
By go-do-this or don't-do-that
Not all ranks can be formed
By who is lower and who is high
Not all people can be described
By he-is-mean or she-is-kind
Five paces at a time we walk
Hand in hand, while we trot
To the great boiling pot
Where we shall burn or maybe not
Slowly we begin sing
Of halfway grey and what is means
Our song is carried not far nor near
Our voices neither slurred nor clear
They do not go, they do not come
They do not stop, they do not run
They hear us from outside and in
As we mingle bright and dim
The sound is neither soft nor loud
As it drifts over cities and towns
Our voices neither warm nor cool
Our words neither kind nor cruel
They listen, their hearts heavy and light
As we boil together the Wrong and Right
Distilled shadows cast with light
We throw in the Black and White
There is no good and evil on Earth
Only tales told at the fireplace hearth
There is no deed perfectly trim
There are always greys, neither bright nor dim
