Time

From the moment we are concieved
We are all doomed to die
Destined to walk a chosen path
Full of forks and indecisions
That eventually all lead to our deaths
Every breath we take
Every night and day
Every heartbeat
Every lingering thought
Every step leads us to our deaths
Like a soul possessed
We've no choice but to walk on the path we are given
Death drawing closer with every moment
For that is the nature of time
Unforgiving and unrelenting
Like fortune giving and fortune taking

A fork in the road
Which way do I take?
One full of sunshine
One bleak and dark
I head to the darkness
Don't ask me why
It does not matter
For every step will take me to my death

And with every step I take
Another soul enters
Doomed to traverse this world
All the while cursed to die
Time is the hunting dog of death
And we are but the prey

And sometimes would you say
That Time is but a race
A mind, full of passion and fury
Yearning to destroy and create
An imagination full of hatred
A soul swallowed by kindness
Blades, sharp and merciful
To destroy and create with blood
A Mesmerising pull that we cannot resist
Counting down the moments left for us to exist
Hand in hand with her sister Fortune
To give and to take what she wishes

From the moment we are concieved
We are all doomed to die
Destined to walk a chosen path
Full of forks and indecisions
That eventually all lead to our deaths
For only Time can escape the dead
